Bulletin June 2025

General

Open Event: Thank you to those who came along to the Open Event, the speakers, helpers and the visitors, we really do appreciate your support and it made for a very good fun event. We are starting to think about next year’s event, there is a worry that we are not attracting the families to the event and if you have any thoughts on what we could do please let me know.

Trustee: Jenny Spratt has decided to step down from being a Greener Kemnay trustee, she was one of the founder members and helped to steer the organisation to become the green voice of Kemnay. She will be a much missed trustee, we are needing to replace her and if you feel like to find out more about Greener Kemnay, please do come along to our monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of the month (next 1st July) at Burnett Arms in the lounge bar at 7pm.

Community Gardens

Activities Day: This is on 14th June at 10 to 2pm, come along to the Community Garden for as long as you like and help us with upkeep of the garden. This time we are looking for help with removing small trees that are growing in the wrong place, general weeding and tidying up round the fruit bushes throughout the garden.

Paths

Dalmadilly Link Path: A big thank you to the few that turned up to help remove the growth along this path, after that hard work it is now almost back to its original state.  Along with the Community Council we are trying to get an update on the progress of the Active Travel Routes to Kintore and Inverurie – it is three and a half years since the principals were agreed.

Energy group

Lobbying letter: They are writing a letter to the Scottish Government; the Energy Group are worried that the current system is not reaching the majority of homes; those who qualify for ECO4 funding and the very wealthy can organise work but those in the middle find it very difficult and have little confidence in the scope and standard of workmanship available to them.
